The Communications Officer ensures that the work and advocacies of CFSI are effectively communicated to specific audiences and to the broader public in a timely manner. Serving in the Office of the Executive Director, s/he is responsible for updating, as well as implementing, CFSI’s communications strategy and branding guidelines; developing an annual communications plan; and coordinating the drafting and publication of annual reports. S/he coordinates with CFSI colleagues to ensure regular publication of news articles, feature stories such as Stories from the Field, newsletters, brochures, and other communication products. S/he manages various communications platforms of CFSI such as, but not limited to: CFSI website; Social Media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube; and other online accounts, including ReliefWeb. The Communications Officer is also responsible for managing the CFSI Feedback Mechanism.
A Master’s degree in mass communication, development communication, communication arts, social development, social sciences or related field. Significant experience in managing website and other online communication platforms, and skills in graphic design. Minimum of five (5) years work experience in the area of communication. Experience in communication work in an international non-government organization and/or in foreign funded projects is a plus.
