The Natural Resource Management Planning Specialist cum Technical Writer, together with other members of the Strategic Approach No. 3 (SA 3) team, will work closely with Protected Area (PA)/LGU Technical Working Groups (TWGs) and people’s organizations/indigenous POs (PO/IPOs) in putting together PA plans, forest land use plans (FLUPs) and tenure/domain management plans (e.g., ADSDPP). He/she is responsible in assuring the consistency of plans with conservation and management objectives of the sites, and are compliant with existing PA, ancestral domain and land and resource use/management planning guidelines. Based in Manila, this position reports to the SA 3 Advisor.
An undergraduate degree in Forestry, Agriculture, Fisheries or Environmental Science; advanced studies in relevant fields, including Development Communications, preferred;
Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in natural resource management, FLUP or land use planning. Similar experience working for an NGO, international organization, or USAID is a plus;
Minimum of 5 years experience in writing resource management, land use and LGU development plans;
Sound analytical and reasoning skills;
Fluency in English (written and spoken);
Superior integrity, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills;
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment is a must;
A demonstrated ability to effectively interact with external stakeholders and project team.
Must be flexible, willing to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
