Job Description

The Watershed/Forest Management Specialist, together with other members of the SA 3 team, will work closely with the LGU of Zamboanga City and the DENR CENRO in preparing the management plans of the Ayala and Manicahan watersheds. He/ she will make sure that the plans support the conservation and management objectives of the city, are consistent with the FLUP that is under preparation and are compliant with existing policies on tenure, and land and resource use/management. This is a 90- days LOE consultancy position based in Manila with travels to all project sites.

  • An undergraduate degree in Forestry; advanced studies in relevant fields is preferred;
  • Minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in natural resource/watershed management, FLUP, community-based forest management, and mangrove management. Similar experience working for an NGO, international organization, or USAID is a plus;
  • Minimum of 5 years-experience in writing resource management plans for LGUs and tenure and ancestral domain holders;
  • Sound analytical and reasoning skills
  • ;Fluency in English (written and spoken);
  • Superior integrity, organization, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment is a must;
  • A demonstrated ability to effectively interact with stakeholders and the project team
  • .Must be flexible, willing to perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
