Job Description

The Wildlife Law Enforcement Associate shall provide liaison, research, monitoring and administrative support to the Strategic Approach (SA) 5 team in coordinating and implementing activities related to improving wildlife law enforcement capacities at the national level, in project sites and in transshipment points.  He/she shall work closely with the SA 5 team in coordinating and implementing activities that will improve or develop the capacities of wildlife and environmental law enforcers through training activities, development of enforcement tools, coordination systems, and monitoring the application/adoption of techniques/approaches from the Protect Wildlife capacity building activities of enforcement partners.  In terms of improving the conservation and management of wildlife habitats, he/she shall be liaising with on-site management units, DENR, and local and national legislators. He/she shall also assist the SA 5 team in determining site-based and national-level policy needs; conducting necessary preliminary research for the development of the regulations; and engaging stakeholders in the finalization of policies. Based in Manila, this position reports to the SA 5 Advisor.

  • An undergraduate degree preferably in Forestry, Fisheries, Environmental Science, or other related fields
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience, preferably with an environmental conservation background. Experience in environmental law enforcement will be an advantage.
  • Must have good command of both written and spoken English.
  • Advanced-level knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) is a plus.
  • Must be willing to travel, and highly flexible to changing work priorities.
  • Must be a team player and have strong social skills; with demonstrated ability to effectively interact
